Summer Movie Mondays: The Marlin 1895 of Jurassic World
Welcome back to GrabAGun’s Summer Movie Mondays, the series where we look at iconic firearms in some of the most popular movies in the world of film. This week, we’re taking a look at a popular rifle featured in one of the biggest and most well-known movie franchises in the world. The firearm in question is the classic lever action Marlin 1895 rifle, which can be seen in the hands of Owen Grady in the popular pre-historic film, Jurassic World.
The Marlin in Jurassic World
The firearm of choice for the velociraptor trainer and main hero of the movie, the Marlin 1895 SBL is a lever-action rifle chambered in the powerful .45-70 Government caliber. Known for being used in big game hunting, this caliber is accurately used by Grady to defend himself and take down several small and medium-sized dinos, as seen throughout the movie.
