About Ruger

One of the last All-American gun companies, Ruger was started by William Ruger in 1938 when he designed the innovative light machine gun for the military. After an investment from Alexander McCormick Sturm, the company introduced a sporting firearm that put Ruger and Co. on the map. Ruger prides itself on making firearms for hunters and sport shooters of all skill levels. Since then, the company has sold over 20 million firearms. Interested in what Ruger has to offer? The Ruger LCP

Ruger LCP

The first edition in the Ruger LCP lineup, the original LCP makes it a great option if you’re looking for an ultra-lightweight micro-compact pistol. The gun weighs in at 9.6 oz unloaded, making it easy to carry around in a variety of situations and outfits. Features of the Ruger LCP 380 include a 2.75-inch barrel, a 6-round magazine, and integral front and rear sights. The LCP 380 also features a recessed hammer to prevent snagging, a durable steel slide, and a checkered polymer grip to improve handling. The gun comes in numerous colors and finishes, allowing you to like the way your gun looks as much as you like how it feels. All of these features form a lightweight option for concealed carry or a pocket gun that you can count on!

The Ruger LCP II

Ruger LCP II 380

The second edition in the LCP lineup, the Ruger LCP II is like the original LCP but includes some notable differences. One of these is the weight, with the LCP II boasting a slightly heavier build than the original model. It has a more substantial polymer frame, that brings the total weight up to 10.6 oz while assisting in recoil absorption. The trigger on the Ruger LCP 2 is another difference from the older LCP, featuring a striker-fired action that makes rapid firing smoother. An integrated trigger safety also distinguishes this model from the original LCP. In addition to featuring the same 6-7 round max capacity in .380 auto, the LCP II also has a line of .22LR models that have a max capacity of 10 rather than the standard 6 with the .380 models. This allows you to have a lightweight pistol with the same build as the .380 but a higher capacity to use when practicing concealed-carry handling and drills.

The Ruger LCP MAX

The most recent model in the lineup, the Ruger LCP MAX continues to build upon the design of the LCP II. Featuring the same footprint and roughly the same weight, the LCP MAX boasts great additional features like a double-stack 10-round magazine (with the option to buy a 12-rounded extended mag), a reversible ambidextrous mag release, and a tritium fiber optic front sight for reliable aim, even in darkness. These features make the LCP MAX a great choice for a high-capacity secondary or a low-profile, easily concealed primary.
