KelTec firearm

About the KelTec Brand

KelTec began in 1991 in Cocoa, Florida by a man named George Kellgren. He began his company under the guiding principle that firearms should be innovative in their design and easy to use. Every machine produced by KelTec since then has followed this principle with unwavering dedication. The company gained massive recognition in 1995 with the launch of the P11 handgun and other semi-automatic pistols. Great success came with this, allowing them to expand to other areas of production including rifles and shotguns. One of their most popular launches was and still is the Sub 2K.

Today, KelTec proudly employs over 300 American citizens in their factory, many of whom are military veterans. This is a company that prides itself on high-quality machines and that pride is evident in everything they create.

The KelTec Sub 2000

What is the KelTec Sub 2000

Also known as the Sub2K, this is the AR-style pistol that effortlessly blends fun and function. It’s a pistol caliber, however, there is an unmatched ballistic advantage and accuracy at a distance thanks to the 16-inch barrel. Barrel length translates to velocity which translates to power downrange. Long story short: you’ll get the most out of your ammo right out of the box with this pistol. In fact, the Sub 2K has been filing the pistol caliber carbine niche for TWO DECADES.

The Sub 2000 is based on a modular design. This means that you’ll have countless ways to customize your pistol. More than that, you’ll find it is just plain fun to shoot! The simple blow-back system keeps everything easy to operate and maintain. Sights are intuitive, the stock is adjustable, field stripping is a breeze, and shooting will never be more exciting.

Chambered for pistol cartridges, the Sub 2000 can accept a wide variety of magazines. Some people wonder if it’s a magazine catch or a magazine release on the pistol. To that, KelTec says, it’s whatever you want it to be. The Sub 2000 was built with versatility in mind. That’s why it comes with as many magazine options as it does. You could say it has more options than a cat has lives!

The Sub2K is classified as a “sub-rifle” because of its small size, light weight, and the use of a pistol cartridge. It is intended as a compliment to the handgun with which it would have full interchangeability in ammunition and magazines. Easily disassembled for cleaning or inspection (without tools), the Sub 2000 is ideal for backpacking trips or situations where space and convenience are paramount. Rotate the barrel upwards and back and this rifle can be instantly reduced to a size of 16.25” x 7” for ease of storage. It also features a 3-position stock which provides an adjustable LOP (13-14.25”) as well as two Picatinny rails on the forend for mourning accessories. There’s an ergonomic charging handle located under the bolt tube for ambidextrous operations. It has a ghost ring rear sight and an adjustable front sight with a removable T6 6061 aluminum housing.

About the AR-15

History

The first AR-15 was developed by the ArmaLite Company. ArmaLite traces its beginnings back to 1950s Hollywood. It was founded by George Sullivan and, originally, the company was focused on weapons design, not manufacturing. The chief architect behind ArmaLite’s weapons designs was a man named Eugene Stoner, who is credited as the original designer of the AR-15 model. In case you haven’t figured out, the AR in AR 15 does not stand for “assault rifle” as many might have you believe. It actually stands for ArmaLite, the original developer of the firearm.

The first weapon designed by the company was the AR-5, a bolt-action rifle with a .22 Hornet round. It was developed as a survival rifle for the flight crew in the Air Force. After that came a replacement for the M1 Garand. ArmaLite developed an AR-10 rifle that, unfortunately, the military did not adopt. However, it set the precedent for what we know today. In 1959, Colt bought the designs for the AR-15 and began producing the firearm. By 1961, the U.S. Air Force began testing the AR-15 Colt was producing, commissioning 8,500 for Air Force use.

TekMat detailing AR15 basics

How It Works

From the start, the AR-15 has been a gas-operated, semi-automatic rifle. Semi-automatic means that every pull of the trigger constitutes one shot. So, as soon as the cartridge is ejected, a new one slides into the chamber automatically, thus the name. Compare that to a pump-action shotgun, where every time you shoot, you have to pump the slide in order to eject the cartridge and begin the next cycle.

Direct Impingement

The type of gas system the AR15 uses is a direct impingement. This is a system that directs gas from the ignited gunpowder of a cartridge to the slide assembly, or the bolt barrier, to cycle the rifle’s action. The thing about a direct impingement system is that it doesn’t use a separate piston, gas cylinder, and operating rod assembly, unlike other traditional gas-operated firearms.

Instead, the pressure from the emitted gas acts upon the carrier and the bolt to cause the firing action. Ultimately, this system makes the overall cost cheaper and the rifle’s weight lighter by decreasing the mass of its operating parts. The only downside to this system is that the breech of the firearm becomes more prone to fouling. (Fouling is that build-up of powder residues due to high temperatures and frequent exposure to moisture)

Standard Facts

A standard AR-15 of today is a lightweight, semi-automatic rifle or carbine fed from a 30-round box magazine. It’s normally chambered in 5.56x45mm that can also fire .223 Remington. I’m using several buzzwords like ‘standard’ and ‘normal’ because the phrase ‘standard AR-15 rifle’ is a little relative. It encompasses all kinds of variants and permutations of the AR15 including the itty bitty 9mm’s with 7-inch barrels all the way to the 22-inch, .300 WinMags, and beyond. For the sake of this post and this post alone, when we’re referring to the AR-15, we’re talking bout the “classic” 5.56mm version.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AR-15 an “assault rifle”?

No. An assault rifle is a select-fire, fully automatic weapon (better known as a machine gun. Think UZI or the Thompson Submachine Gun). That in mind, it’s illegal for civilians to own a fully automatic weapon in the United States. Anything like that is only in service with militaries, law enforcement, and/or defense organizations. The AR15 is a semi-automatic weapon and it’s no different, legally or in name, from any other semi-automatic weapon you’d buy or build.

Can I order an AR15 online?

Yes and no. The only part of a AR 15 that’s actually considered a firearm is the stripped lower receiver. All other parts, including the upper receiver, barrel, parts kit, buttstock, gas system, etc. are not considered firearms. That means they can be purchased online and shipped to your home. You don’t need an FFL to make the transfer, not unless you want to. You can find great AR 15 rifle deals–ready to shoot guns as well as parts–at GrabAGun today!

Is the AR-15 good for beginners?

Honestly? Yeah.

When broken down, part by part, the AR-15 is kind of a mediocre firearm. But, put everything together and you’ve got yourself an exceptional rifle. Bonus: it’s incredibly lightweight for its class. Yes, there are several rifles that outperform the AR-15, but in terms of overall performance, there is nothing quite like it.

Beginners will find that it’s easy to handle. The AR15 is considered a soft shooter, meaning there is minimal felt recoil or muzzle rise. On top of it begin lightweight, it has a relatively simple control layout. Most models also feature an adjustable stock to accommodate the shooter’s stature and if the shooter is wearing body armor or backpack straps. Loading is pretty simple and easy to pick up on. Despite that minimal action, it’s fairly accurate and can reach targets several hundred meters away.

In terms of maintenance, the AR15 doesn’t really require frequent oiling and cleaning. Now, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ever take care of your firearm, but it’s not as high-maintenance as you might think. When the time does come to care for it, you can easily disassemble its base.

Is the AR15 good for hunting?

Yes, the AR15 is lightweight and powerful enough to take down large animals. It’s easy to carry and can certainly immobilize a target. Plus, it’s safer to use due to its “drop safety” feature, something not common among hunting rifles. Harsh weather, rain–you name it and the AR 15 can handle it since the stock isn’t made of wood. Wood, as you know, expands and warps when exposed to moisture. That can cause issues with aiming down the line.

Many do prefer a semi-automatic rifle like the AR15 for hunting since shooters don’t have to adjust their hand positions after every shot. This is critical when hunting pack animals such as coyotes and wild boar where the shooter may need/want to take down multiple animals quickly. That’s much easier to do when you aren’t having to shift positions after each and every shot.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the AR15 has minimal recoil and muzzle creep. When hunting, especially for a first-time hunter, this is a huge advantage. You’re more likely to experience greater accuracy with more time for follow-up shots this way.

What began as a hobby quickly morphed into a complete gun manufacturing enterprise. Initially, Radical Firearms was just an FFL, handling transfers while building high-end ARs and bolt guns for buyers with specific needs. Then they brought in someone with workaday guns and business knowledge and that’s when things began to change. The company bought CNC machinery to improve their current operations and, as a result, brought more employees onto the team. Radical Firearms was already making all AR parts in-house, for a fraction of the usual cost mind you, so they were easily able to put custom AR 15 rifles for sale at affordable prices. In fact, the selection of firearms and parts that they offer are made and assembled right here in Texas. Those that aren’t are purchased from reputable sources.

Whether you are a recreational enthusiast, a professional, or a collector, Radical Firearms has something for everyone. Their AR 15 deals are some of the best and GrabAGun is proud to offer Radical Firearms for sale on our site.

A Little Backstory…

Daniel Defense began back in 1999 when founder Marty Daniel visited the shooting range for the first time. Immediately, he fell in love. He found that shooting was the perfect stress reliever and his engineering mind quickly went into overdrive. Daniel began wondering how to grow, innovate, and enhance firearms everywhere. Thus, the company we know today, Daniel Defense, was born.

In the years that immediately followed inception, DD came up with some truly groundbreaking products, including the “Big Hole Upper”, Sling Loop, and reliable rail systems, to name a few. What sealed DD’s fate was acquiring a contract by the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in 2003. DD beat out larger manufacturing companies, solidifying their place in the industry.

Not resting on their laurels, Daniel Defense went on to manufacture the DDM4 in 2009. They have been recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the USA, with a 1000% growth rate over a ten-year period. Don’t let their young age fool you–Daniel Defense is the name best associated with modern AR15 guns for sale.

Title I vs. Title II Firearms

Handguns and ammo

Whether you are newly interested in firearms or have a deep passion for the industry, you’ll find that the amount of information about pistols and rifles for sale online is vast. There are terms, classifications, and much more that can make it difficult to know where to begin. If this is your first time looking at firearms for sale, you’ll likely hear terms such as Title I and Title II being thrown around. To understand what Title I and Title II firearms mean, the best place to start is at the beginning.

Disclaimer: We at GrabAGun are not lawyers and this article is merely trying to differentiate between Title I and Title II. If you are planning to purchase Class 3 firearms, make sure to read all the laws and consult a local lawyer if necessary.

Defining Title I and Title II

It starts all the way back in 1934 when the National Firearms Act (NFA) was first passed. This was a congressional act that gave the federal government the ability to impose an excise tax on the manufacture and transfer of certain firearms, as well as the ability to mandate the registration of firearms. In a nutshell, it’s because of this act that private citizens can’t purchase a fully automatic weapon and must obtain a federal tax stamp for any item classified as Title II. More detail about what a Title II firearm for sale looks like will be explained later on.

Later, the Gun Control Act of 1986 (GCA), commonly referred to as Title I, was passed. It imposed stricter licensing and regulation while establishing new categories of firearms and prohibiting the sale of firearms or ammo to felons. However, because of how restrictive it was, another act was promptly passed that same year, the Firearm Owners Protection Act (FOPA), ultimately revising many of the provisions under the GCA. For example, under FOPA, the interstate sale of long guns is allowed, even if it’s on a limited basis. Interstate sale means that ammunition can be sold across state lines (i.e. someone purchasing ammo for sale in Texas even though they live in Georgia). Ammunition can also be shipped through USPS under FOPA, and the requirement for record-keeping of non-armor piercing ammo sales is allowed. You can even order ammo online and have it shipped directly to your home.

Overall, federal regulations are still imposed and necessary for the sale of firearms. So what is the difference between a Title I and a Title II firearm?

What is a Title I Firearm?

The definition of a Title I firearm is pretty straightforward. According to the GCA and FOPA, this is any factory standard pistol, rifle, revolver, or shotgun. These can be purchased, owned, and built by any citizen who isn’t prohibited by the Bureau for Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF).

Pistols and Handguns

Title I, semi-automatic handgun

This can be anything from a 9mm handgun to a concealed carry pistol for sale. No tax stamp is required to purchase or own a Title I handgun, but, according to federal laws, you do have to be 21 years of age or older, when purchasing thru an FFL like GrabAGun, you must also pass an FBI background check.

Rifles

Title I, semi-automatic rifle

The barrels of Title I rifles must be longer than 16-inches to maintain their Title I  classification. This includes options like hunting rifles or other tactical rifles for sale. If you are considering getting a rifle, you’ll also want to pay attention to the stock to stay within the regulations.

Revolvers

Title I, revolver

Revolvers are a great addition to any firearm collection. They are fun to shoot at the range and there are even a few models that are great for EDC. Most revolvers comply with Title I specifications with the exception for revolvers modified to shoot fixed shotgun shells. Those are considered part of the “any other” grouping, mentioned later on.

Shotguns

Title I, shotgun

A Title I shotgun might include over-under shotguns, home defense shotguns, or hunting shotguns. Any barrel 18-inches or longer won’t require a tax stamp and will keep its Title I classification.

What is a Title II Weapon?

As defined by the NFA, Title II weapons, also known as Class 3 weapons as the following:

  • Machine guns
  • Silencers/suppressors/mufflers
  • Short-barreled rifles
  • Short-barreled shotguns
  • Destructive devices

Additionally, there is a catch-all group of devices that aren’t exactly firearms and aren’t exactly explosives. The best way to establish a Title I from a Title II firearm is by determining the barrel length, which is measured from the end of the muzzle to the front of the breechface.

Any device considered a Class 3 weapon must have a $200 ATF stamp, for which you have two options to acquire one. If you are transferring a Class 3 firearm to an FFL, you’ll need to fill out a Form 4 application. If you are registering a new NFA item, then a Form 1 will be required. Between the applications and another federal background check, most Title II devices for sale have an 8-12 month waiting period.

GrabAGun’s Class 3 Guide

Machine Guns

According to the NFA, a machine gun is defined as “any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger.” The definition was expanded to include any frame, receiver, and/or combination of parts intended to make a machine gun.

  • Examples
    • M16 Rifle
    • Registered drop-in-auto-sear (RIDAS) for an AR-15

Note: GrabAGun does not stock or sell any firearm that is completely automatic.

Short-Barreled Shotguns

Also known as an SBS, a short-barreled shotgun is defined as a shotgun having a barrel of less than 18-inches, or a weapon made from a shotgun with an overall length of less than 26-inches. The latter is often referred to as a “sawed-off” shotgun.

  • Examples:
    • Mossberg 590A1 Class III Parkerized 12 Ga 14-Inch
    • Kel-Tec KSG 12 Ga 13.5-Inch Barrel

Take a look at GrabAGun’s SBS for sale

Short-Barreled Rifles

The NFA defines a short-barreled rifle (SBR) as a weapon designed to be fired from the shoulder and fire one bullet at a time through a rifled barrel. It is a rifle with a barrel of less than 16-inches or a weapon made from a rifle with an overall length of less than 26-inches.

Note: Weapons with folding or telescoping stocks are measured with the stock unfolded, as intended for use. Weapons with detachable stocks are measured with the stock detached.

  • Examples:
    • Springfield Armory Saint Edge SBR
    • A semi auto Glock with a shoulder stock

Browse GrabAGun’s SBR for sale here

Destructive Devices – Explosive Ordnance

A destructive device is any explosive, incendiary, or poison gas, including bombs, grenades, rockets, missiles, mines, and similar devices. This definition has been broadened to include parts intended for making such a device.

NOTE: While explosive ordinances are classified as NFA firearms, no state allows for their ownership with or without a gun trust. GrabAGun does not stock or sell them in any capacity.

  • Examples:
    • Claymore mines
    • Improvised explosive devices (IED)

Destructive Devices – Large Bore Firearms

As defined by the NFA, Large Bore Firearms are any projectile weapon with a bore diameter greater than half an inch (.50 Caliber). It includes most shotguns, especially ones classified as “combat shotguns,” as well as devices not intended or not likely to be used as a weapon. This includes flare launchers with non-weapon rounds or line throwing devices.

Antique firearms are exempt if they are “not likely to be used as a weapon.” They must have been manufactured before 1898 and may not use conventional ammunition, such as Flintlock pistols.

  • Examples
    • The Anzio 20mm Rifle
    • Flare launchers with anti-personnel rounds

Silencers/Suppressors

A suppressor is any device that can be used for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm. The definition was expanded to also include any combination of parts intended for use in assembling or manufacturing a firearm silencer.

  • Examples:
    • Just about any suppressor for sale at the moment

Check out the silencers and suppressors GrabAGun has to offer

Any Other Weapon – AOW

The NFA defines this catch-all category as “any weapon or device capable of being concealed on a person from which a shot can be discharged through the energy of an explosive.”

  • Examples
    • A pistol with a forward grip
    • A cane gun

Understanding How AR15 Uppers Work and Why You Need One

AR-15 upper receivers, more commonly called ” AR-15 uppers,” refer to the upper half of the rifle. The upper contains the key components of the AR-15 rifle. The four main receivers are known as the A1, A2, A3 and A4 upper receiver, respectively. These receivers are named in the same way the military designated their M-4 assault rifles.

Most AR-15 uppers are very similar. And because the uppers don’t contain the rifle’s serial number, they are interchangeable and don’t have to be registered. An upper contains a charging handle, delta ring assembly, gas tube, gas block, dust cover, hand guard, barrel, flash hider, and forward assist.

AR-15 Upper Styles

There are a few design variations, but all uppers have the same parts and function. It goes without saying that you need an AR-15 upper for the rifle to function properly.

The A1 and A2 upper styles have fixed handles on the top. The A2 has a rear sight with elevation and wind adjustments, handy for any landscape or climate. The A3 and A4 styles are sometimes called flat tops. They have accessory rails on top for mounting any scope, sight, or A2 style removable handle.

Forward Assist

In some combat situations, dirt can clog the upper and prevent the bolt from properly closing against the back of the round. The forward assist enables you to jam the bolt into position when this happens. You will likely never have to touch this button, but it’s there if you need it. Some variations of uppers don’t have this button at all.

Charging Handle

The charging handle pulls the bolt carrier group back, releasing the first round into the chamber. You can also lock the bolt in the back position by engaging the bolt catch. It’s also called a cocking handle or bolt handle and results in the hammer or striker moving to the ready position.

T-Marks

Some uppers have t-marks, which are small white location indicators, helping with accessory location and installation. They’re called t-marks because they’re on the top of the Picatinny rail, but they can also have b-marks, l-marks, and r-marks.

Delta Ring Assembly

The delta ring assembly includes the delta ring, barrel nut, weld spring, and barrel snap ring. It serves to secure the barrel to the upper and provides an attachment for the hand guard. If a hand guard requires special assembly, it’s included in the purchase of that particular hand guard.

A free floating hand guard eliminates the need for a delta ring, so a lot of upper accessories depend on each other and must work together to complete the upper assembly.

Hand Guards

Hand guards attach to the upper and serve as a place to hold the rifle. The barrel gets hot as you shoot, and you can’t stabilize the rifle without a comfortable place to hold it. Hand guards come in all shapes and sizes. It should correspond to the length of barrel you’re using. Free-float hand guards attach to the rear of the delta ring and not at the front of the gas block. They improve accuracy by reducing the flex of the barrel.

Gas Tube

A gas tube transports the high-pressure gas from the gas block to the upper receiver and into the gas tube. Gas tubes should work with your choice of hand guard, and, like hand guards, there are many to choose from.

Flash Hider

The flash hider screws onto the threaded muzzle of the barrel, and it does exactly what it sounds like it does — hides the flash, making it more discreet in battle. Without cuts on the bottom, it prevents dust from releasing into the air.

It’s important to understand how an AR-15 uppers function and why it’s necessary. The components of an AR-15 upper allow you to shoot with comfort, ease, and accuracy. You can find all of these accessories and more AR15 parts for sale at grabagun.com.

5 of the Best AR-15 Manufacturers on the Market

Though there isn’t a clear cut AR-15 rifle that stands above the rest, there are several manufacturers that outperform their competitors. Ask most gun owners and they will attest to the qualities of certain brands over others. But everyone has their own favorites, which is part of the reason ARs are so damn popular. Something we all love about the AR is their variety. You can customize an AR to make it unrecognizable from the stock product.

Many people say that MIL-SPEC makes the AR. That seems to have adjusted to be more of a marketing ploy rather than an accurate representation of the firearm. There are some criteria and specs that you should look for when you want to find an AR-15 for sale. Some of those might include: M4 feed ramps, a high pressure test, gas key that is appropriately staked, the chamber and bore are both chrome-lined, and they are chambered for the 5.56mm NATO. There are plenty of other factors that define quality, but these are a start in what to look for when selecting your ideal firearm. So based off of those criteria, along with general consensus on what makes an ideal AR-15, here is a list of five of the best AR-15 manufacturers on the market.

Barrett

Since the company is known for initiating some common trends in the AR-15 world, it is only fitting to have them lead the list. Though not an overly old company, dating back to 1982, Barrett has made an impact on the industry. They are credited with making the first shoulder-fired .50 BMG rifle. They are also credited with taking industry standards for an AR15, bringing all those specifications into their model, and producing some of the world’s best AR-15s.

Colt

Colt Firearms M4 Carbine 5.56 NATO / .223 Rem 16.1" Barrel 30-Rounds

Colt
might have defined early specifications for what an AR should be. Often being at the forefront of technology, they continue to provide commercial grade AR-15s that are almost identical to the military M4. So when you read MIL-SPEC on a Colt AR, it’s a damn good chance that you are getting products worthy of our armed forces. Just because you’ve been doing something for a long time doesn’t mean you will consistently be good at it, but Colt defies that theory by producing industry-defining AR-15s.

Daniel Defense

Necessity is the mother of invention, as they say. And when you need high-quality AR-15 parts and can’t get them, you start your own company to become a leading producer or top-tier AR-15 rifles and AR 15 accessories — at least, that’s what Marty Daniel did when he founded Daniel Defense. Their AR-15 line has become a staple of the market, impressing thousands of gun enthusiasts with their performance-grade finishes. Additionally, Daniel Defense prides itself in crafting many of their own parts in house. That means the sights, rails, stocks, and flash suppressors will often be made by the same company providing the kickass AR.

Heckler and Koch

With origins dating back to supplying firearms to the German military in 1956, it is easy to see why H&K has become trusted with the MIL-SPEC standards most people want in their AR. The HK416 has been making military headlines for years. H&K excels at taking tried-and-true firearms like the MR556 and crafting versions for the general public. The real ingenuity of their rifles comes from their proprietary gas system, which is based off of a pusher rod. Though often a little bit pricier than some of their counterparts, H&Ks are worth the cost.

Smith & Wesson

AR-15 Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport II 5.56/.223 Rem 16" Barrel 30-Rounds w/ Red Dot

Another company that needs no introduction, Smith & Wesson has provided quality firearms for generations. Their AR-15s are no different. They are the dependable, quality rifles that we have come to expect from the S&W name. When you purchase a Smith & Wesson AR-15, you’ll also have access to many of the key details that firearm owners want in their typical AR. It’s hard to have a list of quality firearms without including a S&W.

Now that you know some of the brands, you’ll want to start looking for the best gun deals. Purchasing an AR 15 with gun financing is a good option that gives you the flexibility you need to pay for the AR as you build the capital for one. Many of the ARs on this list have a higher price tag than other firearms. But no matter which of these trusted brands you choose, you can rest assured you’re purchasing a high-quality AR15. Visit Grab A Gun today to find your AR-15.

Things You Need to Know Before Buying a Rifle

So you are interested in buying your first firearm and you feel ready to learn how to use it responsibly. But what kind of gun do you need? Are you looking for a hunting rifle because you want to be closer to nature or do you just love the outdoors and want to learn more about firearms? Learning more about the options available to you for your first firearm is the first step.

As you research the types of guns available to you, pay attention to the type of ammunition they use, the way they feel in your hands, and how comfortable shooting it may be. GrabAGun has many different types of rifles for you to choose from in various brands, models, and calibers!

Understanding Different Types of Rifles

Whether you are interested in learning how to hunt or shoot targets, you’ll need to learn about the different types of rifles for sale before you can decide what you need to buy. Guns are categorized according to many different features, but one way to easily differentiate among them is to know the mechanics behind the way it fires.

Semi-Automatic Rifle

A semi-automatic rifle fires a single round when the trigger is pulled. That’s different from the way a fully automatic firearm works, which continuously fires rounds while the trigger is held. Semi-auto rifles are larger in size and have a longer barrel. They are also often used for home defense.

Bolt Action Rifle

A bolt action rifle is different from a semi-auto because it works manually, which means you open and close the barrel by hand. A small handle on the side of the gun opens to release the bullet and the casing. Most bolt actions are rifles, but the phrase “bolt action” refers to the way the gun works, which means that it may also be a bolt action handgun or any other type of firearm that is not a rifle.

Lever Action Rifle

Lever action rifles are manually operated as well. Cartridges are loaded into a compartment on the bottom of the gun, near the trigger and trigger guard. The ammo goes into an area with a lever (hence the name). As with bolt action guns, most are rifles, but some are pistols or shotguns for sale.

Single Shot Rifle

Single shot rifles are named as such because they hold only a single round of ammunition. This is one of the oldest designs of a firearm. The simple design is still popular among gun enthusiasts today.

Revolving Cylinder

Revolving cylinder guns are guns that have multiple chambers for ammunition. The most well-known and recognizable type of gun with a revolving cylinder is a handgun where the chamber snaps out of the side and rotates. However, there are other types of firearms that have revolving cylinders as well.

Accessories

Next, you’ll want to consider looking into the types of gun accessories you might want to use. That can help you get a better idea of how you see yourself as a hunter, target shooter, or firearm enthusiast. Do you think you will want to use a stand? Or perhaps you simply want to be able to carry it with you for protection.

The popular AR-15 is well known for its accuracy and reliability, but it is the versatility of the gun that is the crown of the AR-15 for sale. With the ability to exchange receivers, the AR-15 can provide multiple caliber weapon options and various configurations. The wide availability of parts and AR-15 accessories enable you to customize your AR-15 with the features you desire, and the ability to exchange parts and accessories for a different purpose in a snap.

Like a great number of rifles, the AR-15 was developed for military use, providing a durable firearm to withstand both harsh environmental conditions and heavy use. It is from this platform that today’s semi-automatic AR-15 was developed for public use.

Redesigned for the civilian market, the AR-15 has become America’s number one rifle with a continually expanding market of parts and AR-15 accessories.

Dominating in competitive matches, used for hunting, predator control, as home and perimeter defense, for target practice and used among the law enforcement and security community, the AR-15 for sale continues to enjoy a growing popularity.

The AR-15 is rapidly gaining popularity among hunters. It should be noted the standard AR-15 is a 5.56 NATO or .223 Rem, and the two rounds are not interchangeable. The .223 Remington can be used safely in a 5.56mm chamber, but it is unsafe to use the 5.56mm in a .223 chamber. The higher pressure of the 5.56mm round is too great for a .223 chamber. If you will be using 5.56mm, buy an AR-15 chambered for 5.56mm. You can use the .223 in it allowing you greater versatility; you just can’t use the other way around.

People often ask which AR-15 accessories they should have. AR-15 owners often accessorize their guns to the max, only to find it too heavy to be comfortable. Tactical lights are often added, whether they are used or not. If you will be using a tactical light after dark, it becomes a prized accessory; otherwise, just keep in mind, adding accessories will also add weight. Luckily, the AR-15s versatility also imparts ease of accessorizing, or removing them. One of the best investments in AR-15 accessories is a sling. It frees up your hands, enables you carry more and can help you to hang on to your gun.

Pay extra for the chrome lined barrel, or other lining that will extend the barrel life. Don’t use jointed cleaning rods, doing so can damage the interior finish of the rifle.

If you are going to mount a scope or other optic, select a flat top rifle or ensure you purchase a rifle with a removable carry handle. Mounting a scope will be easier.

Get the best AR-15 accessories online from GrabAGun today! Shop scope rings and mounts, optic bases, rails, and adapters, and night vision.
